In Brazil the tinting market corresponds to 15% of the market and it presents a high growth rate. The Plus ring-lid configuration is novel in that the plug is mechanically locked by interference, as opposed to the traditional friction locking. The mechanical lock is achieved when a circumferential rib with tubular cross-section, which is formed on the ring, fits into a corresponding recess formed on the lateral wall of the plug. This second lid allows for easier opening by just breaking the seal, eliminating the use of openers and rubber hammers when opening and closing the lid. The preparation time is reduced by 48s (58 to 10 seconds) since it is not necessary to use a tool to open/close the can, thus allowing the customer to check the colour through the clear plastic lid without needing to open the closure again. The plastic lid uses the same profile and it was created during the period of negotiation of the license of the Plus technology with an American company. The objective was to get into an important niche of the Brazilian market where the company had no sales before the development of the system. After its launch, in less than one year, Brasilata achieved 95% of market share.

In the event of a specific match being required, colour mixing can be carried out by removing the transparent window and adding a colourant. Following mixing, the new shade can be viewed and compared without opening the can. The preparation time is reduced from 58s to 10s since it is not necessary to use a tool to open/close the can. As the plastic lid is made of transparent material, it allows the customer to check the colour without needing to open the closure again. This packaging has helped to reduce the customer lines that were frequent in front of the mixing machines.
